EAGLE PASS, Texas - An Eagle Pass man landed behind bars Thursday for stealing two large cases of beer from a local grocery store/gas station, according to a Maverick County Sheriff's Office press release.

Pedro Torres is accused of taking the alcohol without paying from the Casino Grocery on FM2030. He fled the scene aboard a F-150 pick-up but sheriff deputies quickly caught up to him near the Kickapoo reservation, the release said. Tribal police assisted in his arrest.

Torres was transported to the Tom Bowles Detention Center where law enforcement officials discovered he had an outstanding arrest warrant in Kinney County.
