October 30, 2017

EAGLE PASS - A family of four was rescued from drowning after they were swept away by strong currents into a rough water section of the Rio Grande River.

No official word from the Del Rio sector Border Patrol has been released but several Piedras Negras media outlets reported the family was swimming on the Mexican side of the river when they were swept into the U.S..

A photo taken by an EPTXN reporter shows two women and two children with life jackets being helped out of a USBP boat and into land.

An official press release is expected by the federal law enforcement agency later this week.
