ICE agent with ties to Eagle Pass accused of possessing child pornography

EAGLE PASS, Maverick County, Texas -- A 39-year-old U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent who for several years resided and worked in Eagle Pass was arrested by federal agents for allegedly possesing child pornography. 


Richard Nikolai Gratkowsk was arrested Jan. 04 on a charge of receiving child porn after his case was referred to the FBI by his own agency's internal affairs branch and the Internal Revenue Service's criminal investigators, according to the Houston Chronicle. 


A federal agent who participated in the investigation testified that Gratkowski used his USAA bank account and his government ID to buy bitcoin, a cryptocurrency, and open an account on a child porn website in April 2016. Then, Gratkowski established a second account on the child porn site that gave him access through much of 2017. Gratkowski also visited two other child porn sites on the TOR netowork and used a social media app Kik to get to another child porn site. 


Gratkowski was stationed in Eagle Pass for several years and is married to a former Eagle Pass Independent School District employee, according to our sources.
