Former sheriff's deputy accused of sexually abusing 5-year-old stepdaughter back in jail

January 24, 2018

EAGLE PASS, Maverick County, Texas -- The former sheriff's deputy accused of sexually abusing his 5-year-old stepdaughter is back in the county jail.

According to the Maverick County Sheriff's Office, an arrest warrant was issued for Frank Velasquez, 39, after he failed to come up with the bond money he had previously agreed with the bail bond company that helped him recuperate his freedom several weeks ago.

Velasquez, who worked under the previous sheriff's office administration, is facing charges of sexual assault on a child after the mother of the toddler reported him to law enforcement at the beginning of 2018.

The charges were formally introduced after a pediatric sexual abuse exam came back positive.
