EAGLE PASS, Maverick County, Texas -- Over one hundred people attended the Business and Economic Development Committee (BEDC) forum held Jan. 25 at the International Center for Trade in Eagle Pass.
The purpose of the event was to discuss several business and economic matters important to Eagle Pass, Maverick County, and the border with Mexico.
The special guest U.S. Congressman Will Hurd (R-TX 23) sat down with Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey Cantu to address some of the issues, which include NAFTA, the border wall, the oil and natural gas industry, the recent government shutdown and the federal budget.
Those in attendance included public servants from various government bodies, business owners from both the U.S. and Mexico, as well as community members seeking more information on this region's economic development.
