EAGLE PASS, Maverick County, Texas -- A report about an aggressive male subject at the local HEB grocery store resulted in the arrest of a 25-year-old man over the weekend.
The Eagle Pass Police Department said by the time officers arrived at the grocery store the man had left the premises and was traveling west on Main St. in a black BMW sports car.
"An officer spotted the BMW traveling south on San Marcos St. and attempted to conduct a traffic stop at which time the BMW failed to stop and a high-speed pursuit was initiated," police said.
The BMW traveled west on Garrison St. and entered into the north parking area of the mall where the pursuit ended.
The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Jules Enrique Montalvo, was taken into custody after a brief struggle with officers.
Mr. Montalvo was presented before a magistrate where he was formally charged with evading arrest with a vehicle and resisting arrest.
He was later remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a combined $12,000 bond.
