EAGLE PASS, Maverick County, Texas -- An Eagle Pass man was arrested by Police Saturday following a brief pursuit.
A press release from the Eagle Pass Police Department said patrol officers responded to a radio call from a county constable working a security detail at a business on South Texas Dr.
"Officers attempted to stop an orange colored Chevrolet HHR after the driver was alleged to have been involved in an altercation at the business and brandished an firearm," the release said.
The vehicle led officers on a brief pursuit north on Bibb Ave. and ended within the 2300 block of Edna Dr.
The driver of the HHR, Cesar Sanchez, 37, was found to have in his possession eight "small plastic baggies" containing cocaine.
Mr. Sanchez was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest and detention with a vehicle, and possession of a weapon where prohibited.
He was remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center in lieu of a combined $24,000 bond.
