EAGLE PASS - A man was airlifted to a San Antonio hospital after being stabbed multiple times early Tuesday morning.
According to an Eagle Pass Police Department press release, at about 5:16 am police officers responded to an aggravated assault at a residence on 833 Medina St.
When police arrived, they found a man, whose identity wasn't immediately released, with multiple stab wounds in the abdomen. He was rushed to the local hospital but was later flown to San Antonio due to the severity of his injuries.
The press release said a man and a woman, who are believed to be the prime suspects of the assault, were located near the crime scene at the 600 block of Pierce St.
Both suspects were detained and transported to the Police Department for questioning.
The case remains under investigation.
