EAGLE PASS - An Eagle Pass man was jailed in the wee hours of Tuesday morning after he crashed into a parked vehicle and caused damages to a home.
According to a Maverick County Sheriff's Office press release, deputies responded to a report of a "motor vehicle accident with a house" at 857 Wagon Wheel Rd.
When deputies arrived, they discovered a 22-year-old man had struck a residence and a 2008 Ford Escape with his Ford F-150 pick-up.
The man, later identified as Fernando Hernandez Jr., told deputies he had fallen asleep behind the wheel.
Mr. Hernandez was later placed under arrest after deputies determined he was intoxicated.
A TCIC/NCIC check also revealed Mr. Hernandez had an outstanding warrant for a previous possession of a controlled substance charge, the release said.
Mr. Hernandez was transported and booked at the Tom Bowles Detention Center.
No injuries were reported in the crash.
