EAGLE PASS - Former Piedras Negras Mayor Fernando Puron Johnson was killed Friday evening after participating in a political debate against his two opponents for a seat he was seeking in the chamber of deputies in Mexico.
According to breaking news from the Mexican media, Mr. Puron Johnston was rushed to a hospital after suffering an unknown number of gunshot wounds to the head. He died upon arrival.
Mr. Puron Johnston served as Piedras Negras mayor until recently when he left local office to seek a federal seat.
