UVALDE -- A sexual assault of a child investigation by Uvalde County Sheriff's Office investigators and Kerr County deputies resulted in the arrest of a 72-year-old Uvalde man.
The Uvalde County Sheriff's Office released a statement about the arrest on their official Facebook page Wednesday afternoon.
Registered sex offender Edward Vasquez, 72, was handcuffed and apprehended at his home minutes after 12:00 PM after Sgt. Investigator Gilbert Valdez executed the Kerr County warrant, the statement said.
Mr. Vasquez is being charged with Indecency with a Child by Contact, a second degree felony in the state of Texas.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety Sex Offender Registry, Mr. Vasquez had been convicted in 2004 for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a female child.
