EAGLE PASS - A convicted murderer who had been deported in 2011 was arrested by Border Patrol agents Friday afternoon.
According to the information provided, 59-year-old Jose Marcelino Martinez Macias was found attempting to enter the U.S. through the Rio Grande River.
Macias was convicted in 2005 for involuntary manslaughter in the state of Georgia. Macias served 10 years in a state penitentiary before being deported.
Macias now faces 20 years in federal prison for illegal re-entry into the U.S.
