EAGLE PASS - At least 800 U.S. troops will be deployed along the U.S.-Mexico border in the coming days.
The breaking news was confirmed to EPTXN by a source within the Eagle Pass Police Department, who said the force received a federal notice Thursday morning.
It is still unclear the location where the soldiers will be stationed, but more information is expected in the following hours.
Currently there are 2,100 National Guard Troops patrolling the border with Mexico.
The move by federal authorities, who are calling it a "national emergency" is to try and deter the thousands of immigrants headed from South America to the U.S ., and to avoid any acts of violence that may arise.
