EAGLE PASS - An unnamed person who used 16 fake $20 bills to pay for fuel and in-store merchandise at a local Stripes convenience store will be charged federally, the Maverick County Sheriff's Department said.
The incident happened in November of this year at the Stripes located near the Intersection of El Indio Highway and Loop 480, where a manager reported the alleged crime to local law enforcement.
Sheriff's Investigators launched an investigation in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which resulted in presenting charges to the local resident.
The suspect has yet to be named.
