Eagle Pass, Texas.- A 55-year-old woman was put behind the bars of the police where she went to surrender because she knew of an arrest warrant for her for having made a false report of car theft.
It is a fact that originated in the middle of last December when Mrs. María Elena Ortega made a report to the authority because her 2003 Cadillac vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of the HEB store, said Sergeant René Cardona.
The fact mobilized the corporations and although they began the search, and it was not until hours later when the report of an accident occurred in the streets of Rio Grande and Pierce where they found the unit impacted with a fixed object.
They verified and confirmed that the black truck was the same as the robbery report.
The detective division worked on the case and was able to discover that the owner knew about the crash and still reported it stolen.
They processed the arrest warrant and last weekend Mrs. Ortega de Providencia, decided to surrender and put herself in the hands of the authorities.
It was processed and sent to the county jail on a $ 2,000 bail.
